Aunt Oota is an unseen character on Oobi. DescriptionAunt Oota is the aunt of Oobi and Uma. She’s also either Grampu's daughter or daughter-in-law. Like the rest of her family, her name has the "oo" sound in it. She never makes an appearance on the show, but is mentioned in the "Recital!" episode when Grampu explains that Uma is visiting Oota for the day. Aunt Oota was invented for a very specific reason. Stephanie D'Abruzzo played both Uma and Inka, and she could only play one character at a time. Since Inka is on screen for most of the "Recital!" episode, the writers had to come up with a reason for Uma to miss Oobi's piano recital. They decided to have Grampu say that she's visiting a family member, who ended up being Aunt Oota. LooksSince she never appears in person, it is unknown what Aunt Oota looks like. She is most likely a fair-skinned, middle-aged hand puppet. She probably bears a slight resemblance to her niece and nephew.
