Scene 1: Mimicking Grampu
[Oobi , Uma , and Kako are in the living room.]
Oobi, Uma, and Kako: [together] Grampu! Grampu! Grampu!
Oobi: Oh, hi. Grampu bake cookies.
[Grampu comes in with a plate of chocolate chip cookies.]
Oobi, Uma, and Kako: [together] Cookies! Grampu! Grampu! Grampu!
Grampu: Oh, lovely. Enjoy.
Oobi, Uma, and Kako: Mmm, mmm. Mmm.
Oobi: Oobi, Grampu. Ahem.
[Oobi moves his fingers to look like Grampu.]
Oobi: [mimicking Grampu] Lovely.
Kako: Ahem. [tries to mimic Grampu] Lovely.
Oobi: Ah-ha-ha! Good Grampu.
Uma: [mimicking Grampu] Lovely.
Oobi: Good Grampu. Ha-ha-ha! Oh, Oobi "lovely," you "lovely." You "lovely."
Oobi and Voices: [all] Lovely! Lovely.
Oobi, Uma, and Kako: [laughter]
Scene 2: A new holiday
[The scene cuts to an old photo, showing Grampu with Oobi and Uma when they were just babies.]
Oobi: Grampu best Grampu ever.
Oobi: Grampu day! Make Grampu statue.
Oobi, Uma, and Kako: [together] Grampu! Grampu!
Oobi, Uma, and Kako: [together] Happy Grampu day!
Oobi: Grampu day, make statue.
[The kids run off to prepare for their new holiday.]
Grampu: [to the camera] Kids. Lovely!
Scene 3: Oobi's statue
[In the next scene, Oobi studies a bronze statue of a hand puppet musician.]
Oobi: Hmm. Statue. Hmm. Oobi Grampu day statue.
[Oobi has a slab of white clay.]
Grampu: Oh, oh. Grampu no move.
[Grampu moves a little to shake his head.]
Grampu: Oobi, Grampu itch.
[Oobi finishes his clay statue, which looks like an awkward, wide puppet with wings.]
Grampu: [gasps] Oobi, lovely.
[Grampu tries to move into the position of the statue and poses in front of it.]
Oobi: Mm. Oh, lovely. Ha!
Scene 4: Uma looks for a present
[Uma searches for a present in the bedroom.]
Uma: La-la-la, Grampu day present. Um, hmm, oh. [humming] Oh!
[She picks up a dust bunny from under her bed.]
Uma: Ooh. Hmm, mm-mm. Dirt no present. Ah.
Scene 5: Food for Grampu
[Kako is in the kitchen, wearing a chef's hat. He has a container of tuna in front of him.]
Kako: Grampu day food. Hmm, ah. Tuna. Grampu like. Hmm. Aha! Jelly. Grampu love.
[He adds jelly to the tuna.]
Kako: Hmm. Hot sauce. Kako love, heh-heh. [sniffs] Ah, perfecto. Mwah! Grampu day food.
Grampu: Ooh, lovely. Mmm. Mmm.
[Grampu tries some of the food. It tastes terrible, but he tries to hide his disgust.]
Grampu: [gulps] Uh, mmm, good.
Kako: Hey, Grampu "mmm," you "mmm." You "mmm." Mmm.
Kako and Voices: [together] Mmm.
Grampu: [gulps] Ugh. Mmm. [gulps again]
Scene 6: Still looking
[Uma is in the bathroom, still looking for a present.]
Uma: Grampu day present, hmm. Oh! Hmm.
[She holds a tube of toothpaste and squishes it.]
Uma: [sadly] Toothpaste no present.
Scene 7: A perfect present
[Oobi, Kako, and Grampu are in the living room.]
Oobi: Grampu day present.
Uma: [sighs] Uma no present.
Uma: Mm-mm. Dirt, toothpaste...no present.
Oobi: Oh, hey, come here. [whispering]
Uma: Okay. Okay, um, Grampu, Uma present.
Uma: La-la-la, la-la-la, Grampu, Grampu, Grampu. Uma love Grampu! Over.
Grampu: Oh, Grampu love present.
Uma: Uma love Grampu. [gives him a kiss] Mwah! Happy Grampu day.
Oobi and Kako: Happy Grampu day!
Oobi: [gasps] You "Happy Grampu day." You "Happy Grampu day."
Kids and Voices: [all] Happy Grampu day! Happy Grampu day! Happy Grampu day! Happy Grampu day!
Scene 8: Game segment
[The scene cuts to Oobi and Kako in the bedroom. They have two balls of clay.]
Oobi and Kako: [together] Game game, game game. Game game, game game. Game!
Oobi: Oobi statue, Kako, you guess.
Kako: Oh, okay. Clue, Oobi?
[Oobi molds the clay into the shape of a hand puppet. He adds some eyes.]
Voice #1: [boy] Grampu. Is it Grampu?
[He adds a hat to the statue.]
Voice #2: [boy] Uma. I think it's Uma.
Oobi: Clue. Um...oh! [mimicking Kako's voice] Perfecto!
Voice #3: [boy] Kako. It's Kako.
Kako: Oh, yeah, Kako! Me.
Oobi: Kako! Kako face, Kako cap, Kako "Perfecto."
Oobi: [laughs] Game over.
Scene 9: Interviews
[The interview segments start.]
Kid #1: I love my grandma because I like to kiss her and hug her, 'cause she's the best grandma in the world.
Kid #2: I love my grandma 'cause she gives me big hugs.
Uma: Uma love Grampu. Oliver love grandma and grandpa?
Oliver: Um, they're pretty smart, and I like them, and they're very fun.
Uma: Hmm, love nice. Oliver, what is love?
Oliver: Um, when you really, really like somebody, and you want to be with them for a long time.
Uma: Hmm, good! Because Uma love Oliver.
[The interview segments end.]
Oobi: Ha-ha-ha-ha! Oobi, you, friends! Bye.
Voice #1: [girl] Bye-bye, Oobi. Bye.
Voice #2: [boy] Bye, Oobi.
